Super handy gadget for winter fishing!
Plastic-bodied float device with two LED lights for winter net fishermen.
The device runs on batteries (8x D batteries; not included).
The device itself has a four-position jerk switch. You attach the pull line to the device and at the same time to the line guiding the switch, and set the device to go under the ice in the desired direction. The Väinö Torpedo moves at a brisk walking pace, so 60 meters of line goes under the ice in a minute. The device's large gear-like drive wheels make noise as it goes, and the lights at the back are easy to spot from on top of the ice. It starts with a jerk, turns off with the next, and the third turns off the lights - Väinö Torpedo's dimensions: 55x13x11cm - Doesn't include line or batteries. - Finnish user manual. NOTE: After each use, check: - Tightness of the drive gear screws. - Empty any water that might have collected inside the Torpedo and spray some moisture remover. (Moisture remover available at hardware stores) Good tip: Speed things up by floating two lines at once. Pull one line up through the auger hole when the Torpedo has gone the desired distance, and use the other line to pull the Torpedo back to the starting hole. Battery installation: Batteries go in with the + side facing the removable back cover. (If the batteries are in backwards, the light won't come on and the spiked wheels will spin the wrong way.)
