Surface lures have built up a solid following among Finnish anglers.

Fishing with them is some of the most fun stuff during warm summer days, when lots of predatory fish get active and feed on the surface.

You gotta work poppers so they splash a ton of water. Either with quick reel bursts or rod twitches to make the lure pop on the surface and spray water everywhere. Perch and pike especially love that.

Try them on trout ponds and streams too.

Poppers work best when the water's swimmable. Their effectiveness drops once the waters cool down.

Tufts slow down the lure's glide in the water and amp up the splash effect. At the same time, they swim super subtly and give predatory fish the impression of an injured prey fish.
