“Comfort”refers to the temperature at which a less experienced hiker can sleep comfortably through the night.
The Limit temperature is the comfort temperature for a more experienced hiker.
Extremeindicates the lowest temperature at which the sleeper is still protected from hypothermia for some time.

A sleeping pad is the recommended companion for a sleeping bag. A high-quality sleeping pad effectively insulates against the cold. Under the sleeper, the sleeping bag’s filling compresses, which reduces its insulation against the ground.
