The blade of the Santoku knife in the Senzo Universal series has a full tang, meaning the width of the blade's handle part is the same as the handle's width. The handle is attached to the tang with 3 rivets. The Universal Damascus series was developed based on the experiences of professional chefs, and the design also considers Western traditions. Knives in the Universal series are slightly heavier than other Japanese knives because the blade has a full tang and the handle is attached with rivets.
The ergonomically shaped pakkawood handle is extremely durable and water-repellent. The Damascus pattern on the blade and the handle design form an elegant ensemble. The indentations on the blade reduce friction when cutting, making slices detach more easily from the blade.
